About

I’m Kenia – I’m from the Biggest-Little City (Reno), am an engineer, and love to teach yoga.

I’ve always had a passion for teaching and developing others. It started in high school english class, when the teacher (Hi, Mrs. Dermer) asked me to help students remember vocabulary words. In college I was a Supplemental Instructor for Statics, ENGR 241, as well as a tutor for MATH 96R – two audiences that couldn’t be more opposite. It didn’t matter what subject or to whom, I just loved helping others learn. Fast forward through a two year stint of completing an Engineering Rotational Development Program for Pacific Gas & Electric, and obtaining a Graduate Certificate in Engineering Management from Stanford, and we land just about here. I knew right away I wanted to teach yoga when I moved back to Reno, and haven’t spent more than a few days without going to The Studio since.

Engineering is hard, man! It takes a certain personality, and I admire the many intelligent people I had the pleasure of working with. But the truth is, I gravitated towards leadership and management.

Let’s yoga together.
